Early morning, Monday, Dec. 5,  at approximately 7:15 a.m., an armed robbery took place at 51 Adams Street in the Village of Brockport.

Fleeing the scene, the suspect is described as an African-American male, with a light complexion and a beard, who broke into the Adams street home with an air soft pistol and demanded money from a sleeping resident, according to Brockport Police Department.

Located just down the street from the South Campus of The College at Brockport, the six-unit residency was home to college students. No one has reported injuries related to the incident.

The suspect was declared not an immediate threat to campus, and the area was cleared, but neighboring Brockport High School went into lockdown during that morning, lifted later that morning.

The investigation is ongoing and the search for the suspect is continuing, at the time of publication. BPD has brought in witnesses, but there is little known yet as the investigation remains in the early stages as more information comes forward.

According to WHEC, the suspect appeared 6'2" and was wearing all black, including a hat.

In an email from Chief Communications Officer David Mihalyov, students are warned to "exercise caution and contact University Police at 585-395-2226 or call 911 should you have any information regarding this incident."
