Buckle your seat belts Brockport because this upcoming event is bound to be brutal. Upstate Pro Wrestling is making its inaugural performance at the Brockport Elks Lodge on Friday, Dec. 7. The event, Ghosts of Christmas: Past Present and Future, will feature several different matchups from the beasts of Upstate Pro Wrestling.

Fighting in the ring this Friday will be “Your Captain” Nick Ando vs. Jay Freddie, the No Limits Champion Nick Delaney vs. HC Loc, the UPW Tag Team Champions Defiance & Rob D. from JBRD Apparel vs. The Vile Society and several others.

The Vile Society contains “The Man That Father Time Forgot” Hellcat, “The Young Lion of The West” Mattick and “The Dark Jedi” Jeremy Jensen. Defiance is made up of “The Rican Sensation” Maximo Suave and “Mr. Charisma Personified” Chris Cayden. Although UPW is making its first appearance in Brockport, “Mr. Charisma Personified” is making his return.

Brian Cayden Smith who goes by “Chris Cayden” in the ring, has been with Rochester’s UPW for almost five years, but has been wrestling for 15. Smith and his wife are both College at Brockport graduates and each found jobs in New York City. After moving back to the Rochester area to be closer to family, Smith had found a job with the company and has now become one of the head trainers in the Kayfabe Dojo, the school of UPW.

“The company’s purpose is to entertain the Rochester community; better yet to help someone forget about what is going on in their daily lives and “transport” them into this exciting spectacle,” Smith wrote in an email. “At the same time we are trying to help those who want to be wrestlers succeed and go on to bigger and better things (Ex: World Wrestling Entertainment, Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling).”

UPW has been around for over 15 years and has some of the best history for a wrestling school in New York. Now led by former WWE Superstar and homegrown talent Colin Delaney, the Kayfabe Dojo serves the purpose of promoting and pushing upcoming talent into bigger leagues as it has done routinely in the past.

Brockport rarely has an event that contains violence and promotes it, but the event is an opportunity to witness grown men perform moves some would never think a human body would be able to handle. In preparation of what this village is about to experience, “Mr. Charisma Personified” said it best;

“This event will feature a little bit of everything! From comedy to high flying to athleticism beyond belief! Hard hitting, in your face, fast paced, non-stop action!”

Tickets are $18 at the door and $20 for the front row. But, Brockport students can get $10 tickets by showing their student ID at the door. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and first bell is at 6:30 p.m. Sponsoring this event are the local organizations of 58 Main BBQ & Grill, Perry’s Pizza, The Kayfabe Dojo, JBRD Apparel, Pineapple Jack’s and Bill Gray’s. Don’t miss your chance to see UPW’s first appearance at Brockport and see a former graduate perform his signature running neck snap.
