Drake's questionable actions result in scandal

Throughout Drake’s successful career, there has been very few moments when the Canadian rapper has not been in the limelight. You’ll have to date back to his days on the television show “Degrassi” to find a time where he did not receive much attention. Since the release of his first studio album in 2010, “Thank Me Later,” the man has been everywhere.

This past summer, Drake dominated the headlines, with help from rapper Pusha T of course. Kanye West decided to use the month of June to release four different albums. Pusha T’s “Daytona,” Kid Cudi’s “Kids See Ghosts,” Teyana Taylor’s “K.T.S.E” and his own album titled “YE.” Kid Cudi, Teyana Taylor, and Kanye West’s albums did pretty good, but the one that stood out the most was Pusha T’s “Daytona.”

In his fourth, studio album, Pusha T took a shot at the rap games biggest artist, Drake. In the song “Infrared”, Pusha T stated “How could you ever right these wrongs? When you don’t even write your songs.”

Throughout his career, Drake has been attacked for allegedly not writing his own songs. “Infrared” expanded further on that claim and made people know that “real rappers” write their own lyrics.

Drake did not take well to the criticism and a couple of days later released the song “Duppy Freestyle.” In this dis track, Drake let it all out. On a melodic beat, he rapped about Kanye West reaching out to him for lyrics and how Pusha T was “not even top five as his label talent goes.” Drake did not stop there, he went on to mention Pusha T’s wife towards the end of the song, “I told you to keep playing with my name and I’mma let it ring on you like Virginia Williams.”

Pusha T was not going to let that go and released “The Story of Adidon” a couple of days after. The song cover included young Drake in black face and released the news of Drake’s son to the world. In the song Pusha T raps “Adonis is your son and he deserves more than an Adidas press run.” This dis track came with no response from Drake, but he would then address the issue in his album “Scorpion.” In the album, Drake would go on to blame Kanye West for giving Pusha T the information about his son.

Nonetheless, “Scorpion”  ended up being the album of the summer and Drake’s song “In My Feelings” went on to be the song of the summer. But Drake’s beef with Kanye West was just beginning. In the song “In My Feelings,” Drake would go on to rap “Kiki do you love me, are you riding?” This line in the song would have many people speculating that “Kiki” is referring to Kanye West’s wife, Kim Kardashian.

Kanye West took to Instagram to post his displeasure with the song. In a four-part video, West stated “If I had a girlfriend from Chicago, her name was Ranita, and you was married to Rihanna. I wouldn’t make no song called Riri.”

West went on to talk about how Drake should have never made a song that could be confused as something else. But this is not the only reason why Drake has been in the news lately. Recently, speculation has been going around that the 31-year-old Drake is dating the 18-year-old model Bella Harris. A photo posted on Harris’s Instagram on August 25 shows the two-real close in a picture with the caption “no place I’d rather be.”  According to TMZ, the rumor has recently been shut down by people closest to Drake, saying “Bella wasn’t even in town.”

Bella Harris is not the only underage girl the rapper has been speculated to be in contact with. Recently, “Stranger Things” 14-year-old star, Millie Bobby Brown shared her thoughts on Drake in an interview during the 70th Emmy Awards. According to BET.com, Brown stated, “we just texted each other the other day and he was like, ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like, ‘I miss you more.”

One can see why those text messages might seem inappropriate. Why does a 31-year-old Drake need to be telling a 14-year-old Millie Bobby Brown that he misses her so much? Brown would go on to state that Drake just gives her advice on boys and that he is a great role model.

Despite all of the accusations, Drake is in the middle of one of his biggest tours to date. Traveling the world and squashing beef with rapper Meek Mill, Drake does not really have time to entertain all the rumors.
