With the end of the regular season right around the corner, the Golden Eagles look to wrap the regular season on the same consistent tear they have been on throughout the year.  With six seniors on the roster, Senior Day has been on their calendars since the start of the season. Finishing out their career at Brockport and riding a wave of momentum into the SUNYAC playoffs is definitely a goal amongst the group.

According to gobrockport.com, throughout the season the Brockport seniors have had a pretty huge impact on this past season. Senior attacker Kelly Wall who was the best player for the Golden Eagles on Senior Day with a five point performance that included three goals and two assists. Wall also has had a strong season overall with 19 goals so far.

Perhaps one of the seniors to have the biggest impact this season has been defenseman Cassandra Mindred. She is the current leader of the Golden Eagles in forced turnovers with 17. Not only does she bring skill and expertise on the defensive end, she also has been trusted with the role of a captain on the team.

Katie Curran is another senior having a huge impact who is third on the list for caused turnovers with twelve. Obviously relying on senior knowledge on the defensive end of the field has become important for them and is probably a big a reason for such a great record. The rest of seniors of the team have also made  important contributions for the  Eagles in their final season as well, even if it does not show up in the stat box like Mindred or Curran.

The Golden Eagles have faced little to no advisory with their only loss being handed to them by the St. John Fisher Cardinals. They have multiple big wins against almost every opponent they have faced.

Their latest win being on Senior Night against Oneonta, they won by a score of sixteen to five.  Just by looking at the scoreboard, the Golden Eagles dominated that game in between the first and final whistle. Up next are the SUNY Buffalo State Bengals.

Being able to finish with two straight wins against Buffalo State and the SUNY Potsdam Bears would not only be a great cap on what has been an amazing season, it would also send a message against the rest of the field in the SUNYAC  Tournament. Hopefully after that the Golden Eagles will also be able to make some noise in the National Tournament, and add more great history to Brockport lacrosse.
