The Brockport Student Government Senate meeting took place at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, April 14, in room B119 of the Seymour College Union. The meeting introduced two newly appointed staff members to BSG, a director of communications as well as a director of activities.

Another position was scheduled to be introduced to those in attendance, however, the appointed member was not present at the meeting. As a result, there was a vote to push the investiture back to an upcoming meeting where the appointed member will be able to speak on their own behalf.

Two new clubs were also acknowledged by BSG and welcomed as part of the organization. One club was a singing and performance club, open to anyone interested without auditions. Following the introduction of new clubs and BSG members, Senators gave their reports.

The MetroCenter in Rochester hosted a K-day event where they offered free use of a Keurig for students who brought their own k-cups. The event was carried out with the intent to offer students a variety of beverages that were not offered by vending machines.

It was also explained during the meeting that over 90 students applied for open positions within BSG, of which only 20 could be filled. There was a great turnout for applications, and BSG executives are positive about the ability to choose the best of the many candidates to fill the positions. BSG's Chief Justice Joshua Matthews commended the organization's marketing team for their advertisement and student outreach.

After relaying the time and place for the Brockport Muslim Student Association's fashion show on Friday, April 14, and Association of Latino American Students' La Gala event on Saturday, April 15, the meeting came to a close at approximately 4:30 p.m.
