Cass' marriage is ending, but it's not for the reasons you would expect.

In the play "Wonder of the World", Cass discovers her husband's disturbing love for the heads of Barbie dolls. Once she finds them in his sweater drawer, she sets off on a journey to rethink her marriage, as well as the life she has led and how she hopes to move forward. Heading to Niagara Falls, Cass meets new friends along the way: an alcoholic sidekick, a s****y therapist dressed like a literal clown, a captain and some very intrusive detectives. Together, they embark on a journey to ask themselves how life might get in the way of our dreams and perhaps, that says a lot about us all.

This comedy takes us through a quick self-reflection where audiences learn a bit about themselves along the way. David Lindsay-Abaire's tragicomedy gives audiences a reason to laugh again, since the play was in response to the country's upset concerning 9/11, with just enough social commentary to boot.

The quirky comedy is directed by Ruth Childs, associate professor in the Department of Theatre and Music Studies. "Wonder of the World" will take the stage on the Tower Fine Arts Mainstage Theater April 21, through April 29. Times vary. Buy tickets, or inquire more information, at  fineartstix.brockport.edu, by calling 395-2787, or at the box office in the Tower Fine Arts Building.
