On Wednesday April 26, at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Seymour College Union Ballroom, The College at Brockport welcome back one of its alumna, Heather Saffer, to its campus. Brockport students will have the opportunity to learn from the entrepreneur on how to start their own business.

Saffer's resume keeps getting longer since graduated from Brockport. From being a winner on Cupcake Wars, Shark Tank contestant, entrepreneur, bakery owner to Amazon best-selling author, Saffer doesn't plan on stopping.

Saffer, who won "Cupcake Wars'" first-place $10,000 winning prize, used the money to  write the cookbook "The Dollop Book of Frosting" where she enlisted all of her best frosting recipes. She also started selling cake frosting that are all-natural and preservative-free.

Saffer owns "Dollop Gourmet", a bakery shop in Penfield New York. For those who are not near the shop and want some of Saffer's Dollop Gourmet frostings, Saffer also sells jars of her goods online.

Saffer eventually went on to star on Shark Tank last year after submitting an online application, a phone interview and creating an introduction video of her company, which the producers of the show was very pleased with.

During her time at Brockport, the Irondequoit native majored in psychology before finding her true passion for baking and business. But Saffer said her true passion is the cupcake topping.

This event is part of the entrepreneur series that the college has been hosting. Brockport is happy to welcome back Saffer, who has only excelled after the completion of her collegiate career.

This event is free and open to the public.
