The Brockport Student Government senate meeting took place at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, March 31 at the Seymour College Union.

While meetings typically take place in room 119, BSG moved the location to the Union Gallery due to a meeting taking place in the original location.

The meeting began with the establishment of two new clubs recognized by BSG. President Devin Bonner announced as a result of attending a conference, BSG will be working to meet with students within the Jewish community in order to discuss issues which were raised at the conference.

Bonner also highlighted the BSG elections which took place on Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4 as well as the fact that this election year was a "vote 'yes' year" which mean it is a year in which students vote whether or not to continue to be charged with the BSG activity fee. The fee is part of the charges in place by the college and is covered through students. They also serve as a means to offer financial support for different clubs, activities and events to take place throughout the academic year.

Bonner went on to explain that students hired to be part of BSG within the upcoming year would take part in an orientation in order to be better equipped for their role next year.

Upcoming events as well as the club budget for next year were also two other topics discussed at the meeting, resulting in a debate which was focused on whether or not certain clubs should have their budget amended due to the system of club points put in place.

The senate meeting came to a close at approximately 5 p.m.
