New court date set for BPD officer accused of rape

Photo courtesy of Orleans County Sherriff DAY IN COURT - A former Brockport police officer will resume his trial for the 60 sex related crimes he has been charged with.

 The court date for retired Brockport Police Department officer Adam Mesiti has been rescheduled after the first date was cancelled. The case will resume April 19 in the Murray Town Court at 4:30. 

Mesiti has been charged with 60 sex-related crimes including 10 counts of rape. Mesiti retired from BPD in 2013 and worked for a private contracting company which primarily hires retired police officers. It is during this time that the accused crimes are said to have happened. 

The Brockport Police Department did not respond to requests to comment from The Stylus.

Mesiti's case will return to court to be heard by Town Justice Theodore Spada Jr.
