The first week back from spring break brought with it some interesting and important information which was shared at the Brockport Student Government meeting Friday, March 24. The meeting began at approximately 4 p.m. in room 119 at the Seymour College Union.

After a brief welcome back, BSG President Devin Bonner expressed appreciation to members who participated in tabling for the Brockport Auxiliary Service Corporation in an attempt to highlight the difficulties faced by those working in the culinary field as well as show gratitude for BASC workers. Bonner also explained the system BSG is currently putting into place aimed at allowing for a seamless transition between members who are leaving their old positions and newly appointed members who will be taking their places within the upcoming year.

Following Bonner's announcements were reports from each representative on their respective section. Two new clubs were proposed and recognized by BSG, one aimed at establishing a car appreciation and mechanic service to car lovers at The College at Brockport. The other club focused on bringing different people of faith and a love for theatre together in order to put on free productions for students and other members of the Brockport community. The budget for the Brockport Muslim Student Association's makeup artists for its upcoming fashion show was established and approved. Upcoming events such as the Association of Latino American Students' Spanish Workshop and day celebrating Cesar Chavez as well as the Caribbean Student Association's upcoming beauty pageant were presented and recognized at the meeting.

BSG will be carrying out tabling sessions where it aims to make students aware of the different bills currently being discussed by the United States House of Representatives. Some bills being discussed were related to the Environmental Protection Agency and their funding and protections of wildlife, the defunding of Planned Parenthood and the possible consideration of making abortion a crime punishable by law.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 5 p.m.
